Scouting

Scouting is a values-based, educational movement with four primary aims: Character development, Citizenship training, Leadership, and Mental and Physical fitness. All members, both youth Scouts and adult volunteers, willingly accept to abide by the Ideals of Scouting as a guide to a standard of conduct.

The four aims of Scouting are the desired destination of the program. To reach this destination, the Scouting program uses eight methods. The exciting and adventurous training program aims to develop each Scout so they reach their own potential by ‘learning by doing’ while being skillfully guided by adult leadership.

The ideals of Scouting are embodied in the Scout Oath, Law, Motto and Slogan. The Scout conducts himself with these in mind and continually seeks to improve by act and example.
